Search the Internet, support the CNU Alumni Society!

Looking for an easy way to help out? Check out GoodSearch.

GoodSearch is a search engine website. It’s powered by Yahoo!, so you’ll get quality search results. The cool part is that a penny will be donated to the Alumni Society each time a search is performed at GoodSearch. Here’s what you do:

1. Go to GoodSearch at http://www.goodsearch.com/.
2. Right under the box where you type in the words to search for, there’s a second box to type in the name of the organization you want your searches to help. Type in “Christopher Newport University” and click Verify.
3. The page will refresh, and the CNU Alumni Society should automatically appear in the second box.
4. Bookmark the page or add it to your Favorites, and use GoodSearch as your starting point for every Internet search. Each time you return, the CNU Alumni Society should already be selected as the organization you want to help.

Just think, every time you want to find a recipe, locate a business, or get answers online, searching from GoodSearch will donate a penny to the Alumni Society!

You can check to see how much money we’ve raised, too. As of Nov. 16, the CNU Alumni Society has raised $10.07 through GoodSearch. Not bad for just starting out.

Have you checked it out yet? I love the new travel site and I am waiting for the day when I can actually use it! I would like to book a tropical vacation, maybe a weekend getaway, or even a group cruise on there sometime soon. If I can ever get the money together…or take the time off! CNU vs. Washington & Jefferson this Saturday at noon! Prior to the game join the Alumni Society at 220 Prince Drew for a pre-game party! Bring your friends, favorite beverages, and some snacks to help cheer on the Captian’s to the next level of play-offs! Tickets will be available at the tailgate. Have you heard the news? We announced the winner of the HHR on Saturday during halftime. Scott Millar is the proud new owner! With over $15,000 going to scholarships, I would have to say the raffle was a HUGE success! Without the help of dedicated volunteers we never could have done it. Priscilla Bele took the lead as chair and was aided by 30 volunteer ticket sellers. Of course, I would be remiss if I did not thank Mike Martin for his donation…what a great way to help us raise money! Anyone have suggestions for next year? We are thinking of making the car raffle an annual event. Maybe YOU could be our next winner! What kind of car will we have next?
